Our friends at United Way of Southern Maine are once again gearing up to offer the CA$H program. If you don’t know, the CA$H program is a free tax preparation service available to low or moderately low-income households. It’s staffed by volunteers from all over the county who receive training on how to prepare and submit taxes. The United Way is currently looking for volunteers to work in a variety of roles, including as tax preparers. If you’re looking for a time-specific volunteer opportunity, you may want to consider giving your time to this worthwhile and valuable endeavor. This is an entirely voluntary opportunity. There is expectation, based on employment status or housing status, to volunteer with the United Way of Southern Maine.
