You are encouraged to sign up for CodeRed

As part of the City of Portland’s Prepareathon, the Portland Housing Authority is joining forces with the Emergency Management Office of the City of Portland and Cumberland County, Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to encourage as many individuals as possible to sign up for CodeRed, or download the application onto your mobile devices. CodeRed is the emergency alert system used by Cumberland County and City of Portland  officials in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts.  Examples would be boil water alerts, evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, amber alerts (missing children) and/or silver alerts (missing elderly person).

Residents and staff are encouraged to participate in the program.  To register online, click on the link provided below or download the application by searching for CodeRed Emergency communications networks.

A test alert is planned for the week of August 7th.  Questions regarding this program can be addressed via email to holmes@cumberlandcounty.org or chager@portlandmaine.gov.  For more information, you can call 207-893-2810.

You can download PHA Memo or CodeRed Informational Card for distribution and to encourage others to participate in this initiative.
