Scholarship Resources

The Study Centers are a great place to go to get help with college applications, essays, and scholarships. They have computers, printers, scanners, and photocopiers as well as staff trained to assist you. Everyone is welcome!

The Portland Housing Authority Scholarship 


Applications are Due May 15th each year. Applications are made available in February. 


In 1987, the Board of Commissioners established the Portland Public Housing Scholarship Fund l. In 2000, the eligibility was expanded to include PHA’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) participants who are attending college. In 2014, the scholarship was expanded to include all public housing and Section 8 residents of the Portland Housing Authority who are or will be attending an accredited, post-secondary academic institution in the Fall. The scholarship is intended to provide educational grants to residents of affordable housing to support their goals of continuing their education.

The number of awards and amount shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee and limited to the amount of funds available for distribution. Annual awards shall not exceed $2500.00 to any one recipient.
